An AMG preconditioner for solving Navier-Stokes equations with moving mesh finite element method

چکیده
In this paper, we apply an AMG prconditioner to solve the unsteady NavierStokes equations with moving mesh finite element method. 4P1 − P1 element pair is selected, which is based on the data structure of hierarchy geometry tree. We choose two-layer nested meshes including velocity mesh and pressure mesh. AMG preconditioners are designed for PDE solver and divergence-interpolation in moving mesh strategy. Numerical experiments show the efficiency of the AMG preconditioner for moving mesh finite element method. AMS subject classifications: 65M60

Moving mesh finite element method for unsteady Navier-Stokes flow
In this paper, we use moving mesh fintie element method based upon 4P1 − P1 element to solve the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations in 2D. Twolayer nested meshes are used including velocity mesh and pressure mesh, and velocity mesh can be obtained by globally refining pressure mesh. We use hierarchy geometry tree to store the nested meshes. This data structure make convienence for adaptive ...
متن کاملScalable robust solvers for unstructured FE geodynamic modeling applications: Solving the Stokes equation for models with large localized viscosity contrasts
[1] The development of scalable robust solvers for unstructured finite element applications related to viscous flow problems in earth sciences is an active research area. Solving high-resolution convection problems with order of magnitude 10 degrees of freedom requires solvers that scale well, with respect to both the number of degrees of freedom as well as having optimal parallel scaling chara...
متن کاملRobust preconditioning methods for algebraic problems, arising in multi- phase flow models
The aim of the project is to construct, analyse and implement fast and reliable numerical solution methods to simulate multi-phase flow, modeled by a coupled system consisting of the time-dependent Cahn-Hilliard and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with variable viscosity and variable density. This thesis mainly discusses the efficient solution methods for the latter equations aiming at c...
متن کاملTwo-level Penalized Finite Element Methods for the Stationary Navier-stoke Equations
In this article, we first consider some penalized finite element methods for the stationary Navier-stokes equations, based on the finite element space pair (Xh, Mh) which satisfies the discrete inf-sup condition for the P2−P0 element or does not satisfy the discrete inf-sup condition for the P1−P0 element. Then, we consider two-level penalty finite element methods which involve solving one smal...
متن کاملAn Investigation into Preconditioning Iterative Solvers for Hydrodynamic Problems
Two Krylov subspace iterative methods, GMRES and QMR, were studied in conjunction with several preconditioning techniques for solving the linear system raised from the finite element discretisation of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for hydrodynamic problems. The preconditioning methods under investigation were the incomplete factorisation methods such as ILU(0) and MILU, the Stokes prec...
